1.4.1 Definitions
User
Users are defined as all persons involved in the transportation, setting up, connection,
operation, maintenance and repair of the genset. Since all types of use demand different
specialist knowledge, the operating manual is intended for persons with experience in
handling comparable machines and systems.
The user is at least 18 years old. He must have read and understood the operating manual,
and must be able to follow all notices and instructions.
All work that exceeds pure operation of the genset must be done by qualified and authorised
specialists. This applies particularly to work to eliminate exhaust gases and all electrical
connection work.
Position information
All position information (left, right, front, back, top, bottom etc.) relates to an observer
looking towards the control panel in front of the genset. This means for example that the
sockets are at the front and the exhaust outlet is at the back.
Specialist terms
The operating manual contains a number of technical terms and abbreviations that describe
engine-related and electrical matters. Terms that require more in-depth or product-specific
knowledge are explained briefly in the appendix, see
. However,
we make no claim to completeness when these terms are chosen and explained within the
context of the operating manual. If in doubt, refer to suitable specialist literature or contact
your specialist dealer.
