safely and in an environmentally-responsible way, see

Wear appropriate personal safety gear (as a minimum hearing protection, protective
gloves and safety footwear) or such gear as required according to additional regulations.

Make sure that any other persons also wear hearing protection as soon as they are in the
immediate proximity of the genset when it is in operation. Normally, gensets produce a
sound power level in excess of 85 dB(A), see
“8.2 Technical data” on page 115

Do not touch any hot components such as the exhaust system, engine parts etc. and
avoid handling hot consumables and auxiliary materials. There is a risk of burning and
scalding.

Obey the safety regulations for the relevant product when handling oil, greases and
other chemical substances.
I
It is forbidden to operate the genset and to carry out any work in the immediate
proximity of the genset when under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medicines or other
mind-altering substances.

Product overview
The following contains an exact description of the components and control elements
fitted as standard to your genset and with which you must be familiar in order to operate it
properly.
3.1
Design and how it works
The genset basically consists of the following components:
Permanent magnet generator to generate the electrical energy
Combustion engine to drive the generator
Recoil starter for manually starting the drive motor
Systems for supplying the drive motor with consumables:
– Fuel tank and fuel lines (petrol)
– Lubricant supply (engine oil)
– Air filter and choke for the measured infeed of the combustion air
Exhaust system, incl. silencer
Cooling system (air) for eliminating the process heat produced by the engine and
generator
Switch box for accommodating the required electrical components (control systems,
protective devices, control indicators, sockets etc.)
Housing, equipped with earthing screw, vibration dampers, soundproofing, control
panel, carrying handle etc.
