1 First thing first
Purpose of this
The operating instructions contain important information enabling you to operate the machine
safely, correctly and economically. By paying attention to the instructions, you will help to
prevent accidents, reduce repair costs and downtimes, and increase the service life and
reliability of the machine. The operating instructions are included in the scope of delivery of the
machine.
Before commissioning
The operator has to read the operating instructions of the machine and the engine
manufacturer before putting the machine into operation.

1.1 Safety terms and their symbols and meaning in these instructions
Danger
In conjunction with the term ”Danger”, this symbol stands for an immediate danger, which
results in severe injury or death.
Warning
In conjunction with the term ”Warning”, this symbol stands for a potentially dangerous
situation, which results in severe injury or death.
Caution
In conjunction with the term ”Caution”, this symbol stands for a potentially dangerous
situation, which results in minor injury or damage to equipment.
Notice
The term ”Notice”, stands for a situation which results in damage to equipment.
1.2 Responsibilities
Owner
The owner guarantees the use of the machine for the specified purpose and the safe condition
of the machine and its mounted devices.
He shall inform Rapid/Egholm immediately of asafety defects becoming apparent on
the machine or its mounted devices.
Service centers
Complex work on the machine must only be carried out by an authorized Rapid/Egholm
service center.
User
The machine must only be used, serviced and repaired by persons familiar with such work who
have been informed of the potential dangers involved.
Specified use
Specified use includes:

Snow clearing
•
Operating basic machines approved by Egholm
•
Compliance with operation, service and maintenance as prescribed by the manufacturer
•
Use of original Rapid/Egholm spare parts
Use other than the above-mentioned is considered not to be in accordance with the specific use. The manufacturer cannot
be held responsible for any damage resulting from such use. In that case, only the user is responsible.
