Operation of EFAS – Driver and Co-Driver
This section describes the use of EFAS for drivers and co-
drivers.
Before reading this section, familiarise yourself with the
general information in the section "Introduction" on page 6
and the displays and controls in the section "Display and
Controls" on page 14. An overview of all EFAS messages is
provided in the section "Messages" on page 77 and an
overview of the menu structure in the section "Menu Struc-
ture" on page 113.

When driving, EFAS may display messages or eject the tacho-
graph card in the event of an error.
Do not let yourself be distracted by this. Always keep your eyes
on the road.

Do
not
insert the driver card when driving. Do not operate the
unit when driving, as this may distract your attention from the
road and cause an accident.

Keep the printer slot closed when driving. Abrupt vehicle move-
ments may cause injuries.

The tachograph cards can only be withdrawn by pressing either
key

or

. The tachograph cards
cannot
be unlocked mechani-
cally. Do
not
try to withdraw the card by force.
