8. Fault finding
Fault The controller LEDs do not flash for 0.5 seconds when the system is switched on
Cause The electrical supply has failed.
Remedy Make sure that the electrical supply is set to on and the fuses (and current limiting
devices) are not tripped.
Fault The pump does not start after a parallel start command is supplied
Cause Check that the electricity supply is on. Check if the fail output is active.
Remedy If there is a fail signal, check if the red alarm LED is flashing. If yes, refer to Table:
Flashing error codes on page 77 . If the power is supplied and fail signal is not given, but
the rotor does not rotate, the fault is in the pump.
Fault The pump does not start after a serial start command is sent
Cause Check whether the pump returns a reply to the start command.
Remedy If there is no reply then perform the checks given under No serial comms on page 72
otherwise perform the checks under The pump does not start after a manual start is
sent on page 72 .
Fault The pump does not start after a manual start is sent
Cause Check that the electricity supply is on and whether the fail output is active.
Remedy If there is a fail signal, check whether the red alarm LED is flashing. If it is, refer to
Table: Flashing error codes on page 77 . If power is supplied, there is no fail signal and
the pump still does not start then there is a fault with the pump.
Fault The pump does not start after power is applied in auto run mode
Cause Check that the electricity supply is on, that auto run mode is enabled and whether
the fail output is active.
Remedy If there is a fail signal, check whether the red alarm LED is flashing. If it is, refer to
Table: Flashing error codes on page 77 . If power is supplied, there is no fail signal, the
auto run LED in on and the pump still does not start then there is a fault with the
pump.
Fault The pump does not respond in multi-drop mode
Cause The multi-drop is disabled.
Remedy Make sure the pump has a multi-drop address and that commands are sent using the
multi-drop protocol.
Fault No serial comms
Cause No electrical supply, loss of serial link or serial enable.
