▪
If operating the pump with an inlet pressure greater than 10 mbar (1 x 10
3
Pa) for
extended periods.
▪
If the pump is frequently pumped down from atmospheric pressure.
The oil mist filter will trap the oil exhausted from the pump; the oil can be reused if it is
not contaminated.
4.7 Electrical installation
The electrical installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified person. Always
make the electrical connections to the pump after the pump has been installed on the
vacuum system.
WARNING:
Ensure that the electrical installation of the pump conforms to all local and national
safety requirements. It must be connected to a suitably fused and protected electrical
supply with a suitable earth point.
The pump can be operated using the TIC Turbo Instrument Controller, TIC Turbo
Controller or TAG Controller. The pump can also be powered by the customer supply and
controlled using the customer system. Refer to
Connect the logic interface to control
for information about control and to
for instructions on how to connect the electrical supply.
4.7.1 Electrical installation requirements
Take note of the following list of electrical installation requirements:
▪
When locating the pump, ensure that access to the pump electrical supply cable is
not obstructed.
▪
For recommended fuse ratings, refer to
Table: Recommended fuses on page 24
4.7.2 Connect the logic interface to control equipment
To operate the pump using the customer's own control system, use a suitable connector
mating half (not supplied) to connect the control equipment to the connector on the
logic interface cable.
Refer to
Table: Logic interface technical data on page 24
connections to the pump, refer to
Table: Logic interface connector pins on page 25
for
full details of the logic interface connector pins.
4.7.3 Connect the electrical supply
1.
Make the electrical connection to the pump with an IEC60320 C19 connector and
cable that satisfies the local electrical standards. We recommend a Type SJT; 3x14
AWG; rated 300V; 90 °C; VW-1.
2.
The pump must be earthed via the earth conductor of the IEC60320 C19
connector.
