Make certain that the release shaft is free of debris and not damaged as shown in
Figure 4-20: A Clean Release Shaft

Grease the threads on the shaft and inside the link with silicone grease.

Thread the Release Link on to the Shaft until it bottoms out, then unscrew it ¼ turn as shown in
Figure 4-21: Thread the Release Link onto the Shaft
