1. Maximize the height of the vertical run of the vent pipe. A minimum of three feet

(0.91 m) of vertical pipe is required at the heater. The top of the vent must extend at
least three feet (0.91 m) above the highest point on the roof. A weatherproof vent cap
must be installed to the vent termination. Ensure there are no building air intake vents
or windows near exhaust venting system
