7. Operation
1. Check that the safety distance is set as described under chapter 7.3. Correct if necessary.
Th en turn the switch lever to the corresponding position (single stroke or continuous stroke).
2. Lead the components between the working surfaces of the tool.
3. Press the foot pedal and move the ram downwards until the tools have a noticeable e ff ect on the workpiece
and the forming process begins.
Th e handwheel has to be turned anti-clockwise to lower the ram position (under chapter 7.6).
Th e working pressure can be adjusted by turning the handwheel.
4. Delicately regulate the pressure during the forming (see chapter 7.5 to 7.7).
5. Slowly lead the component between the tool halves with your hands.

IMPORTANT
Not high working pressure, but the repetition of several operating cycles leads to a perfect forming.
6. Once the desired shape is achieved, remove the workpiece.
Before you remove the workpiece, li ft the ram to release the pressure until the tools are working free.
7.4.1 Forming Procedure
With every working stroke of the machine ram the forming tools conduct a work cycle, while both of the tool halves
continuously process the component from above and below.
It is not recommended to make strong curves with high pressure in one passage. If the formation power per opera-
ting cycle is kept small and the component is lead between the tool halves more o
ft en, then the forming can be better
controlled and in fl uenced. In addition, the surface of the component is roughenedless.
ATTENTION
— Operation of the foot pedal without inserted workpiece.
—> Damage to the tools.
• Operate foot pedal only with inserted workpiece. Th e forming tools are excessively worn if they collide
with each other when there is no workpiece placed between them.
