Verify that the bypass switch is in the UPS (normal) position.

If the bypass switch is set to UPS, replace the square center
cover and go to Step 5.

If the bypass switch is set on Bypass instead, turn the bypass
switch to the UPS (normal) position (see Figure 16). Replace the
square center cover and go to Step 5.
