Step 1 - AC supply conductor size
1
Refer to the Input Specifications on page
2
Select the correct number and size of conductors to suit the ac supply voltage and
maximum ac input current.
Step 2 - Terminate ac supply conductors
The terminal blocks for the ac supply cables are located on the top of the cabinets.
1
Remove the ac terminal module top cover.
2
Remove the cable cut-outs and fit the grommets.
3
Pass the line/neutral conductors through two ferrite toroids (supplied) as shown
in the following diagrams.
4
Connect the line/neutral conductors to the ac terminal blocks as shown in the
following diagrams. Tighten the terminals to 6Nm (53 lb.-in).
Eaton recommends that you strip the insulation back approximately 7mm (¼ inch)
and crimp a ferrule over the bare conductor ends. For each of the conductors,
ensure that the ferrule fits over all the strands of wire.
Step 3 - Connect the protective earth conductor
Ensure that the ac supply earth conductor is 30-50mm (1¼ - 2 inches) longer than the
live conductors (L1, L2, and L3.)
1
A Service Person shall check whether or not the power supply connection from
which the DV2-3G is to be powered, provides a connection to the building
protective earth and connect with Protective Earth conductor minimum 4 AWG
Copper.
If not, the Service Person shall arrange for the installation of a Protective Earth
conductor from the separate protective earthing terminal to the protective
earth wire in the building:
2
Connect the Protective Earth conductor to the ground stud. Use:
Wire:
Multi-strand, copper conductor, 4 AWG
(to match live conductors) with green/yellow insulation.
Strip length:
7/8"
Crimp lug:
4 AWG: UL listed or recognized, such as
FCI-Burndy type YA4CL6-BOX
Crimp tool:
FCI-Burndy type MY29-11
3
Tighten terminal to 18.7 - 21.9Nm (166 - 194 inch-pounds).
Step 4 - Configure rectifier ac connections
Refer to the following diagrams of rectifier ac connections for each ac supply type.
1
Connect the rectifier phase/neutral conductors to suit the ac supply type. Tighten
the terminals to 3Nm (26.5 lb.-in).
2
Replace the ac terminal module top cover.
