Step 8 - Replace the battery shelf front panel

Battery Cable Links for Additional Battery Racks (if required)
All battery cable links must be internal to the cabinets. This is because the battery shelves
are protected by supplementary protection only.
In multiple rack systems use cable links between adjacent racks to interconnect the busbars in
the battery rack(s) and the rectifier rack.
Use the Eaton cables listed in Spare Parts on page
, or use the following cable and crimp lugs:
Conductor:
Copper, stranded single-core
Temperature rating:
194°F (90°C) minimum
Cable size (minimum):
2 * 300 kcmil for each pole
Metric cable size (equivalent min.):
2 * 150mm

TLK185-10
* Part number is for K.S. Terminals (KST) product. In US/Canada use these parts or equivalent UL-
Listed crimp lugs. In other countries use equivalent parts.
Installation procedure
Step 1 - Switch off all load and battery circuit breakers
Step 2 - Prepare battery cable links

Cut the required number of common (positive) and live (negative) battery cable
links.
Use cable of the type and size specified at the beginning of this section.

Terminate both ends of each cable with M10 ring crimp lugs of the type specified.

Apply heatshrink to the barrels of all crimp lugs.
