Problem
Possible cause and remedy
The device cannot
be switched on.
• Is the mains plug correctly inserted in the plug socket?
• Is the socket defective? Try another socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
• It is possible that the carbon brushes may be worn or other
parts of the device may be defective. Have the device re-
paired in an authorised specialist workshop.
The device only
operates slowly.
• Is the attachment blunt or damaged? Sharpen it or replace it.
• Is the attachment not suitable for the workpiece?
• Is the speed which is set too low? Increase it using the speed
controller.
Excessive vibration
• Is the attachment loose or not correctly

tted?
• Is the attachment bent or damaged in some other way?
• Is the attachment not suitable for the workpiece?
• Make sure that you guide the device synchronously, i.e. with
the direction of rotation (clockwise) of the cutter, to ensure
that it works more smoothly. Exception: Drywalls/plaster-
boards should be cut in the anticlockwise direction.
• Is the speed which is set too high? Reduce it using the speed
controller.
Occurrence of unex-
pected noises
• Mechanical obstruction or short circuit in the armature? Have
the device maintained in an authorised specialist workshop.
Sparking in the mo-
tor unit
• Worn carbon brushes?
• Short circuit or outage in the armature?
• Commutator
contaminated?
Have the device maintained in an authorised specialist workshop.
Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Please dispose of it in an environmentally
friendly manner and take it to a recycling centre.
Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly manner. It should not be
disposed of in the normal household waste. Please dispose of it at a recycling
centre for used electrical and electronic devices. You can obtain more informa-
