which may be a sign of a tool attachment which has not been inserted properly. If
the device is operated with an incorrectly inserted tool attachment, there is a risk of
serious injuries resulting from loss of control of the device.
p) Never switch on the device when the tool attachment is in contact with the work-
piece.
q) Be aware of the direction of rotation of the cutter and the feed direction.
r) Make sure that the edge trimming unit is always mounted when the device is used
for cutting.
s) Make sure that the ventilation slots of the device are not covered during use.
t) Make sure that the tool attachment has come to a complete standstill before the
collet is locked in place.
u) The maximum rotational speed of the tool attachment used must not be less than the
maximum rotational speed of the device.
v) Keep the pressure which is exerted constant while machining the workpiece and
allow the tool attachment to dictate the speed. Do not apply excessive pressure as
this would overload the motor.
w) Switch off the device after completing the operation and always wait until the tool
attachment has come to a complete standstill before you put down the device or
remove it from the workpiece. This will avoid any kickback of the device, injuries and
material damage caused by rotating parts of the device.
x) Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
y) Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, wide temperature variations,
moisture or direct sunlight.
z) Make sure that type plates and safety instructions on the device are always easy to
read. Indecipherable and damaged plates must be replaced.
5) Residual Risks
Even if the device is used in the designated way and all safety notes in these instruc-
tions are observed, the following residual risks may still arise:
• Touching the tool attachment (cut injuries)
• Reaching into the moving tool attachment (cut injuries)
• Unforeseeable, sudden movement of the workpiece (risk of kickback)
• Parts of the workpiece being spewed out/
fl
ying out (risk of injury if suf
fi
cient
protective clothing is not being worn)
You should therefore always be attentive and careful when handling the device!
