e-breathe Smartblower
4.4 Application & Use PAPR
4.4.1 Putting on Blower
Please ensure in advance that the blower is securely and firmly connected to the belt/carrying system. Adjust the
belt to the approximate required size.
Put the blower belt on with the buckle in the front centered and the unit in the middle of the back.
Afterwards tighten the belt to prevent the Smartblower System from slipping.
4.4.2 Connection Breath Connection/Head Part
Hood System:
Connect the breathing air hose to the motor unit as described in
section 4.2.2.3
.
Connect the other end of the breathing air hose to the breathing connection according to the enclosed breathing
connection instructions.
Full Mask System:
Connect the motor unit to the full mask as described in
section 4.2.3
.
Please note: When using a full mask the Smartblower is screwed directly to the mask!
4.4.3 Switching on the blower/Starting the blower
Press the power button/menu button of the SVE. After switching on, the display with the start
logo and the SVE mode set, lights up and the blower performs a self check (system test).
If the unit detects a fault at start-up, the blower will give an alarm with the associated error code. The error must first
be rectified before the blower can be put into operation.
If the unit does not find any errors during the self-check, the blower is ready for operation. However, before starting
any work, check that the filters used and the battery still have sufficient remaining capacity for the duration of your
work.
As soon as the blower supplies the breathing connection with fresh air, the connection is ready for application.
Observe the enclosed instructions for use of the breathing connection as you put it on.
4.4.5 Warnings and Alarms
If the blower causes an alarm, the working area should be left immediately.
An alarm can be recognised by the permanent flashing of the display and an acoustic signal. The alarm is triggered
as long as the error occurs.
If an alarm has been triggered accidentally, e.g. by covering the filters, it can be checked by briefly pressing the menu
button to confirm the alarm. In this case, the alarm will stop and only be triggered again if the error persists. If the
alarm is not a false alarm, the working area should be left immediately.
Please note that after leaving the dangerous area, you must eliminate the error prior to the next use of the
device. See section 5.9 Alarms.
