e-breathe Smartblower
1.2 Limitations
•
Only qualified persons, who are absolutely aware of the work-related dangers and are familiar with the use and
operations of the device, may use the product.
•
Respiratory protective devices must be selected according to the type and concentration of the hazardous sub-
stances.
•
Insufficient warning characteristics of hazardous substances require special rules of engagement.
•
Only filters, which are approved by e-breathe, may be used. The use of other filters is not allowed and can lower
the protection class.
•
Carefully check the identification of the filters to be used together with the blower and make sure not to confu-
se the classification according to EN 12941 or EN 12942 with the classification of the blower according to other
classification standards.
•
The blower must always be used with at least two filters of the same type. If several filters are used, replace them
at the same time.
•
Gas filters do not protect against particles. Similarly, particle filters do not provide protection against gases or
vapours. In case of doubt, use combination filters.
•
Particle filters are only allowed for single use if they are applied against radioactive agents or microorganisms
(virus, bacteria, fungi and spores).
•
Gas and combination filters have to be exchanged when recognizing smell or taste.
•
Filters should not be attached directly to the face piece or breathing hose.
•
Normal filtering devices do not protect against certain gases such as CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide)
and N2 (nitrogen).
•
When working with open flames or liquid metal droplets, there is a risk of ignition of the activated carbon filter
(gas or combination filter) and the associated occurrence of acutely hazardous concentrations of toxic substances.
•
At a very intense working pace, the pressure in the facepiece can change into negative pressure at peak inhalation.
•
Make sure that the breathing hose does not get caught in surrounding objects.
•
The equipment may never be carried or lifted at the breathing hose.
•
Before the application of the blower, a check of the minimum airflow volume should be conducted.
2.1 Blower Unit
2.0 System Components
The e-breathe Smartblower respiratory blower system consists of a motor unit, SVE-unit (rechargeable battery), a
connection cable, a charging device and a carrying strap/system.
The following characteristics distinguish the e-breathe PAPR system:
• at least 4 hours operating time
• up to 400 times rechargeable lithium-ion battery
• Switch on/off and select menu items using one and the same control button
• Colour display with clear symbols
• Automatic air flow control with integrated air pressure and temperature monitoring
• Monitoring of the air flow, remaining filter capacity and battery charge level by the intelligent system
• Alarm system:
- Alarm: visual signal through flashing display with illustration of the warning and acoustic signal tone
!The blower must always be used with at least one particle filter. By using the Y-Connector accessory, it is possible to
use two particle filters!
