4.3.2.1.5 LAN Configuration – Use The Following Static IP Address
Use the following Static IP address:
The following configuration screen will pop-up.
Click the radio button to select
Enable DHCP Server
or
Enable DHCP Relay
or
Server and Relay Off
.
Manually enter the necessary items based on each selection.
IP Address:
The 4 Ports 11g Wireless ADSL2/2+ Router’s default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
Netmask:
The 4 Ports 11g Wireless ADSL2/2+ Router’s default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
This subnet will allow the gateway to support 254 users. If you want to support a larger number of
users you can change the subnet mask. The DHCP server is defaulted to only give out 255 IP
addresses. Remember that if you change your 4 Ports 11g Wireless ADSL2/2+ Router’s IP
address and you have DHCP enabled, the DHCP configuration must reside within the same
subnet
Default Gateway:
The default gateway is the routing device used to forward all traffic that is not
addressed to a station within the local subnet. Your ISP will provide you with the default gateway
Address.
Host Name:
Can be any alpha-numeric expression that does not contain spaces.
Domain:
Used in conjunction with the host name to uniquely identify the gateway.
