Cartridge Dust Collector

4. For the SC600 and SC1700, the lift truck should be

spread to match the maximum opening of the filter
compartment door (hinged door) prior to inserting the
forks into the filter section. For the SC3400, center
the forks between the two filter compartment doors.

5. Insert lift truck forks through the dust collector filter

compartment door, approximately 6" (152mm) below
the upper edge of the door opening. Extend the forks
into the dust collector until the tips of the forks are
within 1" (25mm) of the inner vertical wall.

6. Place two spacer bars (typically made of 4" x 4"

[100mm x 100mm] wood) on the lift truck forks. place
spacer bars perpendicular to the forks so the weight
of the unit is evenly distributed across the surface of
the tubesheet. The spacer bars should extend to
within 1" (25mm) of the overall dust collector width
(i.e. side walls).

Lifting dust collector cabinet without the use of spacer
bars will cause damage to filter housing.

Spacer bars cannot come into contact with the filter
mounting studs which extend down into the filter
compartment. Care should be taken so the mounting
studs are not damaged.

Unit should be slowly lifted until level with the hopper
assembly. The dust collector has a high center of
gravity that requires careful lifting in order to avoid
overturning the dust collector during installation.

Remove nut/bolt assemblies that secure the hopper to
legs. Apply silicone sealant around bolt holes on the
hopper assembly as shown in Figure 9.

Lift the filter cabinet and position it on the hopper/leg
assembly (aligning the cabinet corner holes over holes in
leg supports). With the cabinet still supported by lifting
forks, bolt the hopper and cabinet together using 3/8"
diameter hardware as shown in Figure 9. Ensure all
cabinet, leg and bracing hardware is securely tightened.

Lower the lift truck forks until the unit and hopper
assembly rest in position, then remove forks from the
filter compartment.

Make certain all bolts (including the anchor bolts) are
properly tightened before proceeding with the remainder
of the installation.

A Supra-Conic

dust collector with hopper assembly

must be securely anchored to the floor surface to
prevent the unit from tipping over, resulting in possible
equipment damage and injury to personnel.

C A U T I O N

7.2 MAGNEHELIC GAGE

An optional Magnehelic gage package can be installed
on the Supra-Conic

dust collector to display the

differential pressure across the filter assembly. The
gauge can be either field mounted (installed by
customer) or factory mounted (installed at UAS).

If the gage is ordered field mounted, remove the
Magnehelic Gage and its hardware from the shipping
package. Follow the field installation instructions for your
model as provided in Figures 14 or 15.

7.3 CASTER ASSEMBLY

(SC600 AND SC1700 MODELS ONLY)

The Supra-Conic

dust collector is designed to accept a

floor caster assembly for ease in moving the dust
collector between locations. The caster assembly is only
available on the SC600 and SC1700 dust drawer
configured dust collectors. The caster assembly may be
field added to the dust collector. Refer to Figure 16 for
caster assembly field installation instructions.

7.4 ASHRAE AND HEPA AFTERFILTER

ASSEMBLY

The Supra-Conic

dust collector is designed to accept a

universal afterfilter bracket with either an ASHRAE or
HEPA filter. The afterfilter bracket mounts in place of the
dust collector exhaust cover plate. The afterfilter
assembly may be field added to the dust collector. Refer
to Figure 17 for afterfilter assembly field installation
instructions.

7.5 DOWNDRAFT BENCH ASSEMBLY

(SC1700 MODEL ONLY)

The downdraft bench assembly is designed to bolt
directly to the rear surface of the SC1700 Supra-Conic

The dust collector must be a dust drawer configuration.
An installation instruction sheet is provided with the
downdraft bench assembly. The downdraft bench
assembly is designed to be field connected to the dust
collector. Some field installation is required.

7.6 OPEN BIN VENT ASSEMBLY

The Supra-Conic

dust collector may be configured from

the factory for a bin vent application. The bin vent
package allows the Supra-Conic

to be configured with

an outboard flange around the base of the filter housing.
The bin vent configuration requires field assembly. The
outboard flange plate is shipped loose along with
fasteners for connecting an outboard plate to the Supra-
Conic

inner base flange. A dimension sheet and

installation instruction drawing are provided with the bin
vent package.
