Maintenance
This product does not require regular maintenance for the life of the unit.
5.1 Lubrication
Duff-Norton recommends using
Mobilgrease™ XHP™ 462
lubricant in conjunction with performing proper maintenance
procedures on this unit.
5.2 Required Tools
Use a bearing puller, press, soft-jaw table clamp, and common hand tools for proper disassembly and assembly.
5.3 General Procedures
Duff-Norton recommends following these procedures during disassembly and assembly:
1. Tag critical parts to facilitate reassembly.
2. Mark mating surfaces to ensure proper meshing.
3. Clean and lubricate parts as required.
4. Replace all seals at the time of rebuild.
5. Replace all screws, washers and other small common parts if damaged in any way.
5.4 SPA Actuator Disassembly Instructions
5.4.1 Disassembly
Disassemble the actuator as follows while referring to
. Read instructions thoroughly before
disassembling.
1. Clamp the actuator housing (1) in a vise (use soft jaws). The unit should be in a horizontal position with the outer
tube (31) up.
2. Remove the seven socket button head screws (46) and lock washers (47).
3. Slowly pull the cover cap assembly (45) from the unit, making sure to disconnect all electrical connections.
4. Remove the ground screw (not shown in Figure 5.1) located in the controls housing assembly (41) to fully separate
the cover cap assembly (45) from the controls housing assembly (41).
5. To separate the controls housing assembly (41) from the gear housing (1), remove the five socket head cap screws
(42) and lock washers (43).
NOTE: Socket head cap screws (42) can be removed without disconnecting any of the internal circuit board assemblies
using a ball-end Allen wrench.
6. Remove the controls housing assembly (41), passing the motor (10) lead wires through the hole in the casting.
Slightly tap with a soft hammer if necessary.
NOTICE
Disassemble the unit on a clean cloth.
