Checking the coolant level (fig. 28)
Check the coolant level in the expansion reservoir on the
RH side of the motorcycle. The coolant level must be
between the
MAX and MIN marks.
Top up if the level is too low.
Unscrew the filler (1, fig. 28) and add a mixture
consisting of water and antifreeze SHELL Advance
Coolant or Glycoshell (35-40% of the volume) up to
MAX
mark.
Refit the filler (1).
This mixture improves operating conditions (coolant will
start freezing at –20° C).
Coolant circuit capacity: 3.5 cu dm (liters).
Warning
Place the motorcycle on a flat surface and make
sure the engine is cold before proceeding.
