Maintenance
7.1
Maintenance intervals
The specified intervals are Dräger recommendations. Differing
national guidelines must be complied with.
Refer to the relevant Instructions for Use of full facepiece,
ventilation unit, automatic switch over valve and self-contained
breathing apparatus.
7.2
Visual examination of chemical
protective suit
The following examinations are mandatory: The chemical
protective Suit must be disposed of in case of defects.
z
No holes, cuts or abrasions must be found on the outside
of the chemical protective Suit.
z
The seam tape must not become detached.
z
The visor seal must be undamaged and the visor itself must
be clean.
z
The gloves must be undamaged.
z
The zipper mechanism and its cover must be undamaged.
z
The suit valves must be free and undamaged.
z
The suit material must show no signs of abrasion (white
lines) or ozone damage (white chalky dots). The coating
must not become detached from the fabric.
7.3
Cleaning and disinfection of chemical
protective suit
7.3.1
Manual cleaning and disinfection
1. If fitted, remove, clean and disinfect ventilation unit and
D-connect

2. If fitted, disassemble antifog visor, clean separately and
disinfect in immersion bath. Thoroughly rinse all parts in
clear water after cleaning.
3. If fitted, remove backpack pad and clean separately
in clear, warm water.
4. Remove the protective caps, the covers of the suit valves
(if fitted), and the valve discs from the suit valves.
5. Clean valve discs separately in clear, warm water.
6. Clean chemical protective suit and protective caps in
lukewarm water with the addition of cleaning agents

e. g. Sekusept Cleaner with cloths or brushes on the inside
and outside.
Do not use any organic solvents such as acetone, alcohol,
benzene or the like.
7. Thoroughly rinse all parts in clear water.
8. Put on both protective gloves and safety googles and place
chemical protective suit, valve discs and protective caps in
disinfection liquid.
Use only approved disinfectants, e. g. Incidur.
NOTICE
Originally lead sealed chemical protective suits must
be first checked after five years. After this period or
when the seal is broken chemical protective suits must
be serviced in accordance with specified intervals.

maintenance work (see Chapter 11 on Page 36).

Observe the corresponding Instructions for Use.
CAUTION
Do not immerse antifog visor longer than 5 minutes in
the liquid, otherwise the antifog coating will come off.
