Note
• Software can be updated with setting data
of this terminal remained. However, setting
data may reset to default depending on new
version of software's data format. Please
be forewarned that such data may not be
protected depending on the conditions of
this terminal (failure, damage, exposure to
moisture, etc.). It is recommended that you
make a backup of setting data. ( → P69)
Precautions
• Do not remove the battery pack during software
update. Update may fail.
• Fully charge the battery before updating
software.
• Software update is not available in the following
cases:
- During communication
- miniUIM is not inserted
- The battery is not fully charged
- “ 圏外 (Out of service area)” appears
- Terminal power is off
• Software update (downloading and rewriting)
may take a while.
• During software update, communication
functions and other functions cannot be used.
• It is recommended that you upload software in a
location with strong signal reception with three
antenna bars displayed in stationary state. If the
signal becomes weak during software download,
or download is suspended, retry software update
in a location with better signal reception.
• When your software is up to date, a message
indicating that “ 最新バージョンのソフトがありま
せん。(No latest version is available.)” appears
when you check availability of software update.
• During software update, information unique to
your terminal (such as a terminal model and the
serial number) is automatically sent to the server
(software update server managed by DOCOMO).
DOCOMO does not use the sent information for
other purposes than software update.
• If software update fails, a message “ 書換え失敗
しました (Rewrite failed)” appears. All operations
become unavailable. In this case, bring the
terminal to a repair counter specified by
DOCOMO.
