7.0 DIAGNOSTICS
Below is a list of problems that may occur during machine operation, including an explanation of pos-
sible causes and a description of how to proceed to resolve the problem. Nonetheless, it is advisable
to contact the reseller for more detailed diagnosis in the event of serious faults.
7.1 TROUBLESHOOTING
1. THE ELECTRIC MOTOR WON’T START.
Cause:
a) no power to the motor;
b) the power cable is interrupted;
c) the switch is damaged;
d) the motor is damaged due to overvoltage or overload.
Solution:
a) check the power supply circuit and/or the mains power supply;
b) replace the cable;
c) replace the switch;
d) replace the motor.
2. WHEN THE WEDGE REACHES THE NEUTRAL POSITION AT THE BOTTOM IT
DOES NOT RETURN BACk UP.
Cause:
a) the extension cord is too long or too narrow and the right voltage is not supplied;
b) unsuitable adapter (1500 W) and the right voltage is not supplied;
c) voltage is insufficient due to mains problems;
d) oil level insufficient for hydraulic circuit requirements.
Solution:
a) use a shorter or higher cross-section extension cord (minimum wire size 2.5 mm2, for
extensions longer than 15 m use wires larger than 2.5 mm2);
b) use 2000/2200 W adapters (where possible avoid adapters and prepare or purchase
an extension cord with Schuko female socket);
c) contact an electrician to measure the voltage;
d) add oil to the right level.
3. NO POWER TO THE LOG-SPLITTER.
Cause:
a) all the causes listed in point 2;
b) the combustion engine runs at low revs;
c) the distributor is not activated by the control levers;
d) the pump is worn;
e) the distributor maximum pressure valve is worn.
Solution:
a) all the solutions listed in point 2;
b) increase engine revs;
c) adjust the mechanical system that activates the distributor using the levers;
d) replace the distributor;
e) replace the pump.
