5.1.2. Instructions for Authorized Maintenance, Repair or Alterations
5.1.2.1.
Fueling
Refer to the Paragraph 1.6.1. on section 1.
5.1.2.2.
Fuel tank draining
•
Tools needed: None
•
Parts needed: fuel tester or a transparent cup.
•
Type of maintenance: Preventive Maintenance
•
Level of Certification needed: - Aircraft owner (only for ELSA)
- Sport pilot or higher
•
Instructions:
1. Put the sump “fuel tester” or a transparent cup under the drain valve.
2. Push open the drain valve.
3. Drain required quantity of fuel
4. Release the drain valve and visually check that there is no fuel leaking for the valve
5. Repeat procedure for the opposite tank.

Task proper accomplishment check: Visually check, that the valve is closed and there is no
leakage of fuel through it.
Draining serves to eliminate impurities and deposits from the fuel.
Drain until clean fuel flows from the drain valve.
DO NOT SMOKE OR HAVE ANY OPEN FLAME DURING DRAINING!
