General Purpose Timer error
External Loopback error
IRQ conflict (when two adapters want to
use the same interrupt line), or the PCI
slot was not enabled. Check the adapter’s
settings in the EZWORKS Installation
utility. Use the BIOS Setup utility to
change any settings.

Echo Station error
Network Link error
Confirm that the internal and external
loopback tests passed. Ensure that the
media port is selected correctly and the
cable is connected correctly.
Memory allocation error
This message indicates insufficient
memory for diagnostics; release some
memory. If the problem persists, contact
your system administrator.
Unable to find DIGITAL network
card error
Ensure that the Fast Ethernet adapter is
seated securely in a PCI bus slot, or try
another available PCI bus slot.
Ensure that the PCI adapter was
installed correctly during BIOS Setup:
the PCI slot is enabled, an IRQ number is
assigned, and bus mastering is enabled.

Network is active error
Unload the driver or cold boot your
system to deactivate the adapter.

If the problem persists, the adapter could be defective. Depending on where you
purchased the adapter, contact either your authorized DIGITAL distributor or DIGITAL
Technical Support.
Note
The last three error messages are network-related. These
messages appear in the EZWORKS Installation utility
Diagnostics information box.
