Glossary

Cash dispenser

The complete CS 5500 Front-load Lobby Cash Dispenser.

Consumer

Any person who uses the cash dispenser to conduct transactions.

Device

The electrical and mechanical components in the cash dispenser.

Dispenser

The module that takes currency or other dispensable media from the cassettes and presents it to the

consumer.

Fascia

The front of the cash dispenser.

Institution

The bank or business that uses the cash dispenser to provide services to its consumers.

Maintenance

The routine tasks performed by the operator to keep the cash dispenser operational, such as

replenishing supplies.

Media

A generic term that refers to any type of document (such as a bank note, ticket, coupon, etc.) that is

stored in the cassettes and dispensed to the consumer.

Module

The major devices that are installed in the cash dispenser, such as displays, printers, and dispensers.

Note

Documents of monetary value (such as a "bank note" or "currency") that are stored in the cassettes and

dispensed to the consumer.

Operator

A person who performs routine maintenance tasks, such as replenishing supplies or removing paper jams.
