IP
Purpose
Increase the pressure slowly by the requested amount.
Command “IP
n
”
Classic “IP=
n
”
Arguments
n:
The increase in pressure desired (current pressure units). This can be from
0 to 2 % FS of the active range.
Remarks
The up control valve will be used to increase the pressure the requested amount at a rate of
0.2 % FS/sec. The PPCH-G controls pressure up to the target and then stops, so the change
in pressure will be approximate.

IS
Purpose
Increase the pressure slowly.
Command “IS
n
”
Classic “IS=
n
”
Arguments ‘0’
‘1’
Stops the pressure generation.
Starts an ascending generation at a slow fixed rate..
Remarks
The up control valve is used to establish a fixed rate of 0.2% FS/sec. The valve is closed as
the pressure approaches the target.

L2 / L3
Purpose
Read or set the type of program command format to use (classic or enhanced).
Command
“L2” enables “classic” mode
“L3” enables “enhanced” mode
Defaults “L2”
(Classic
mode)
Remarks
The user can select the type of remote command format using these simplified commands.
There is no query format. This format must agree with the format sent to the PPCH-G. This
command is a replacement for the “MSGFMT” command.

LOCAL
Purpose
Returns control to the PPCH-G front panel.
Command “LOCAL”
Classic “LOCAL”
Remark
The REMOTE program message can lock the front panel out completely. The user can return
to local operation by sending the LOCAL program message, sending the IEEE-488 ‘GTL’
command (if in enhanced format), or by cycling PPCH-G power. A transition from remote to
local operation aborts any current pressure control.
