REGULAR MAINTENANCE
-
Clean the window with a damp cloth and ash. If required, use a specific household cleaning product
while complying with the instructions :
. wait for the appliance to cool down completely before performing this operation.
- Clean regularly the secondary air guide A
(Fig. 12)
:
. with a vacuum cleaner (follow arrows 1), remove the particles trapped between the upper air guide
(metallic) and the window, if required slide a thin blade (2) between the air guide and the window
(Fig.
13)
to help cleaning (remove the particles).
These particles prevent the formation of a secondary air layer which protects the window from direct
contact with the smoke and completes wood combustion.
This operation must be performed whenever the window is dirtied and systematically after heath extinction.
If localised and strongly marked traces of soot
(Fig. 15)
reappear and multiply, dismount the air guide to
clean thoroughly
(Fig. 16)
:
-
remove the door from its hinges and place it on a flat surface,
-
remove the 5 screws (Allen) using a 10 mm flat wrench,
-
remove the air guide and clean it,
-
replace the sealing joint around the window (diameter 6,5),
-
re-assemble the elements and check that the window clearance recommended
(Fig. 16)
is observed.
This operation must be performed by a qualified professional.
-
Clean regularly the hot air outlet grids of the cowl. They clog easily because their meshing is fine :
choose an appropriate frequency.
-
Check the efficiency of the door closing device, and if required perform the following operations
according to
Fig. 14
:
•
to tighten the catch :
. loosen screw
c
and tighten screw
d
,
. give both screws a quarter turn and repeat if necessary.
N.B :
This will increase the pressure of the sealing strip around the door.
•
to slacken the catch :
. loosen screw
d
and tighten screw
c
,
. give both screws a quarter turn and repeat if necessary.
N.B :
This will reduce the pressure of the sealing strip around the door.
