 WARNING: If you smell gas

• Shut off gas supply.
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your

building.

• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the

gas supplier’s instructions.

• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

IMPORTANT:

 Operating fireplace where impurities in air exist may create odors. Cleaning

supplies, paint, paint remover, cigarette smoke, cements and glues, new carpet or textiles,
etc., create fumes. These fumes may mix with combustion air and create odors.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

1. Gas leak.

1. High or gusting winds

2. Low line pressure

3. Inner vent pipe leaking exhaust gasses

into system

4. Horizontal vent improperly pitched

5. Glass too loose and air tight gasket leaks

in corners after usage

6. Improper vent cap installation

OBSERVED PROBLEM

Fireplace produces unwanted odors

Fireplace shuts off in use

Gas odor during combustion

REMEDY

1. Locate and correct all leaks

1. Fireplace has been tested for up to

40mph winds. However, extreme con-
ditions may occur

2. Contact local propane/LP or natural gas

company

3. Locate and correct all leaks

4. Horizontal vent termination should slope

down only enough to prevent any water
from entering the unit. The maximum
downward slope of the vent termination
is 1/4" for any horizontal run

5. Tighten glass

6. Check for proper installation and free-

dom from debris or blockage

1. Locate and correct all leaks

1. Properly locate logs
2. Clean out air holes at burner inlets. Pe-

riodically repeat as needed

3. Remove blockage or replace burner
