Entering out-of-range or inappropriate values causes an error message to be displayed

To cancel the configure command at any time, send an interrupt control character by
pressing <Ctrl> <c>. To complete the command at any time, with the current
changes saved, send an end-of-file control character by pressing <Ctrl><d>.
