Removing and Installing Parts

CD or DVD Drive

CAUTION: 

To guard against electrical shock, laceration by moving fan blades, or 

other unexpected injuries, always unplug your computer from the electrical outlet 
before opening the cover.

Removing a CD or DVD Drive

Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 97.

Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on page 99).

3

Remove the bezel (see "Removing the Bezel" on page 118).

4

Disconnect the CD or DVD drive data cable from the system board connector.

5

Disconnect the power cable and the CD or DVD drive data cable from the 
back of the drive.
