A LERT ! P REVIOUS ATTEMPTS AT BOOTING THIS SYSTEM HAVE FAILED AT
CHECKPOINT [ NNNN ] . F OR HELP IN RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM , PLEASE NOTE
THIS CHECKPOINT AND CONTACT D ELL T ECHNICAL S UPPORT — The computer
failed to complete the boot routine three consecutive times for the same error
(see "Contacting Dell" on page 200 for assistance).
C M O S
CHECKSUM ERROR
— Possible motherboard failure or RTC battery low.
Replace battery (see "Replacing the Battery" on page 157). See "Contacting Dell"
on page 200 for assistance.
C P U FAN FAILURE — CPU fan failure. Replace CPU fan (see "Processor" on
page 166).
D ISKETTE DRIVE 0 SEEK FAILURE — A cable may be loose, or the computer
configuration information may not match the hardware configuration. Check cable
connections (see "Contacting Dell" on page 200 for assistance).
D ISKETTE READ FAILURE — The floppy disk may be defective or a cable may be
loose. Replace floppy disk/check for loose cable connection.
H ARD - DISK DRIVE FAILURE — Possible hard disk drive failure during HDD
POST. check cables /swap hard disks (see "Contacting Dell" on page 200 for
assistance).
