Installing the drive backplane

Prerequisite

Follow the safety guidelines listed in 

Safety instructions

.

NOTE: 

The procedure to install the backplane is similar for all backplane configurations.

Steps

Connect the SAS, SATA, or NVME cable to the backplane.

Use the hooks on the system chassis as guides to align the slots on the backplane with the guides on the system.

Insert the backplane into the guides and lower the backplane until the blue release tabs snap into place securing the backplane.
