Installing Windows Server 2016 and network drivers on the
management server
Install Windows Server 2016 on the management server:
1.
Select a language preference, time and currency format, and keyboard or input
method, and then click
Next
.
2.
In Windows Setup, click
Install now
.
3.
Enter the product key, and then click
Next
.
4.
Select
OS
>
Windows Server 2016 Datacenter (Server with GUI)
, and then
click
Next
.
5.
Select
I accept the license terms
, and then click
Next
.
6.
In
Installation type
, select
Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)
.
7.
Select
Drive0 Unallocated Space
and click
New
to create the partition.
8.
Click
Next
.
The following message appears:
To ensure that all Windows features work correctly, Windows
might create additional partitions for system files
9.
Click
OK
.
10.
After the installation is complete, on the
Settings
page, set the username and
password.
Install the Mellanox driver on Windows Server 2016:
1.
After the server reboots, open the iDRAC Virtual Console.
2.
Log in to the PowerEdge R740 server.
3.
Browse to the location to where you downloaded the file and double-click the new
file.
You can download driver files from
Online Support.
4.
Read the release information that is presented in the dialog box.
5.
Download and install any prerequisites that are identified in the dialog box.
6.
Click
Install
.
7.
Follow the remaining prompts to perform the installation.
8.
To view the network card configuration, select
Start
>
Run
on the Windows
desktop, open the following file:
ncpa.cpl
The
Network Connections
window displays all the NIC cards.
