swirlers
Danger!
Flue gases coming out of blocked chimney are dangerous. Chimney
and connector should be kept clean.
Attention!
To ensure correct and long-term operation of the boiler and
declared power and emission parameters you should carry
out periodical maintenances. It is recommended to perform
an inspection of the boiler at least once a year, preferably
before the heating season. All repairs and maintenance
inspections should be carried out by the Authorized Service
of the Manufacturer.
In the furnace chamber, special attention should be put to the precise
removal of ash and slag from slots of grate and chamber walls and
ceramic nozzle. Cleaning should be also carried out before each start-up
of the boiler. Before cleaning the boiler should be damped and user
should wait period of time necessary for cooling down the internal
surfaces of the boiler. Cleaning of flue gas ducts, where fly ashes are
depositing, should be performed through cleaning holes every 3-7 days.
Hint!
It is recommended to clean the boiler before each start, what
will significantly decrease fuel consumption.
Plates of flues, side walls of heat exchanger should be cleaned
through cleanout doors /pic. 3, pos. 2./ and charging doors /fig. 3, pos.
3./. Accumulated ash and dust should be removed though ash-pan and
furnace doors /pic. 3 pos. 5./. Push the swirlers out of the horizontal flue
gas ducts and clean them.

Pouring water is acceptable only outside the boiler room, on fresh air,
from a distance exceeding 3 m;
2) determine reasons of the fault and after removal thereof and checking
the correctness of operation of the boiler and the whole system, begin
cleaning and carry out the start-up process of the boiler room.
8.8.
MEASURES IN CASE OF FIRE IN THE FLUE /SOOT IGNITION/.
Hint!
Systematic cleaning of smoke ducts should be performed to
prevent soot ignition in the chimney.
Soot ignition in the chimney is the burning of particles deposited
inside the chimney (flue) channels; the deposits are formed in the course
of heating equipment's operation and were not cleaned by chimney
sweeps. In case of soot fire in the chimney the following
recommendations should be observed:
•Call Fire Brigade at 998 or 112, give information about what is
happening and give detailed directions on what is happening and how to
get to the given building;
•Quench fire in the boiler;
•close boiler's door and chimney’s cleaning openings tightly to cut off air
supply (due to lack of air the fire will eventually stop);
•Check the whole chimney channel for any cracks which might result in
fire spread to the rooms;
•Prepare fire quenching means, e.g.
fire extinguisher, fire blanket, a hose
connected to the water system, water in a container;
•Make rooms and necessary information available to the Fire Brigade.
Danger!
It is strictly forbidden to pour water into the chimney - risk of
blowout.
Service tools delivered with the boiler should be used to clean the
boiler.
•inspect periodically
the condition of hinges, door handles and
packing. To replace the sealing cord, it should be removed from the
door’s groove using
a screwdriver and clean the groove. Push in the new
sealing cord into cleaned groove, starting from the horizontal part. Cord
should be precisely pushed in on the whole perimeter of the doors, it
should be possible to close the doors.
Periodical “boiler annealing” (at least once per week)
- burnout in
temperature 70-
80°C
- is necessary in the case when low temperatures
are maintained for a long time. This operation is intended for increasing
life of the boiler.
NOTE! The above-mentioned operations should be also absolutely
performed after the ending of the heating season. The boiler should
be also cleaned in case of shutdowns lasting more than 2 days.
Complete inspections should be performed once per year during
boiler shutdown. Ascertained boiler failures e.g. normal wear of parts
should be submitted to the authorized service.
Cleaning of flue is also important for the correct operation of the
boiler.
They should be cleaned before each heating season.
8.7. EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN OF THE BOILER.
In emergency cases or emergency states, that is:
• exceeding maximum water temperature in
the
boiler over 100°C,
• pressure increase,
• sudden and significant water leakage from the boiler or the system,
• cracked pipes, radiators, fittings (valves, gates, pumps),
• other emergency situations compromising
the safety of the boiler's
operation.
The recommendations below are to be followed:
Danger!
Untight chimney channels can be a source of burning sparks
or very hot flue gas, including insensible carbon monoxide.
Note!
Chimneysweep should be called after soot fire in the chimney
to perform cleaning of ducts and to inspect their technical
condition.
8.9.
SWITCHING OFF THE BOILER.
After the heating season and in other cases of planned boiler's shut-
down, the fuel charged should burn out completely and ash and slag is to
be removed from the furnace and ash-pan chambers. The boiler is to be
cleaned carefully including the furnace chamber, ash-pan and convection
draught.
For the boiler's shutdown periods, water from the central heating
system can be removed
only
in case of modernization or installation
works. To protect the boiler after a heating season, ash and carbon
deposit containing the largest amount of sulphur is to be removed and
maintenance tasks are to be carried out.
If the boiler has been installed in cool and humid boiler rooms, in the
summer, the boiler is to be protected against humidity by locating some
moisture-absorbing material inside such as, e.g. burnt non-hydrated lime,
Silica Gel.
Hint!
Boiler should be precisely cleaned and protected against the
influence of moisture when the heating season is ended.
Note!
If it is not the necessary user should not drain water from the
central heating system. Leaving water inside the boiler
protects it and fittings against corrosion.
9.
REMARKS ON BOILER USAGE.
1) remove fuel from the furnace chamber and place it in a metal container;
risk of burning or asphyxiation! (do not spend much time in the boiler room; if
possible, open the door and ventilation holes). Removing embers from the
furnace chamber should be carried out only in the presence of another
person. The fire brigade is to be called if too much smoke makes removing
embers impossible.
The furnace chamber can be covered with dry sand. It is strictly forbidden
to pour water onto embers in the furnace chamber.
Danger!
The following rules of safe operation of the boiler should be strictly
observed and introduced.
1.
The boiler can be used only by adult persons, who have familiarised
themselves with this operating manual and have been trained in the scope of
boiler usage.
2.
It is forbidden for children to be in the neighborhood of the boiler without
adult persons. 3. Flammable liquids must not be used for torching the fuel;
only solid fuel (e.g. tourist), resinous wood or paper can be used etc.
Danger!
In case of boiler's emergency stoppage, safety of people and
obedience to fire-fighting regulations is of the highest priority.
