Creating a Share in Windows XP Home
Installing the Server Only component using XP Home
Windows XP Home Setup
Windows XP Home does not allow for an Active Directory domain. If install-
ing on a system running Windows XP Home for a separate Server component,
you must complete the following additional steps to prepare it for FMU. This
will create a network share on the server that stores the .xml files.
1. Open
Windows Explorer
or
My Computer.
2. Go to the
Tools
menu and select
Map Network Drive
to open the
Map
Network Drive
dialog.
The following procedure is only necessary if you are installing the Server component
to a separate computer from the FMU Workstation. If you have performed a Complete
Install and FMU Workstation and Server are on the same computer, no additional
steps are necessary unless you intend to allow access from external workstations.
Drive
Specify what drive letter to assign the new network drive.
Folder
This is the network path to the server. You will need to
enter or browse to the network path as specified by your
network administrator.
Reconnect at logon Recreates and connects the share every time you login.
