MANU0140    Rev. 0     2/2019

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for selecting a Daavlin 7 Series phototherapy unit. The use of light for the treatment of
photoresponsive skin disorders has been our business since 1981. At Daavlin we are proud of our tradition of
development and innovation in the field of phototherapy and are honored that you have chosen us for your
phototherapy needs.

Sincerely,

The Daavlin Staff

Your 7 Series phototherapy unit is equipped with Daavlin’s Link

TM

Control System. In addition, your physician

may have prescribed your device with the FlexRx™ system that limits the total number of exposures that the
device will deliver. Specific information about these systems is provided in this manual.

Delivery and Inspection

When you first receive the device, please inspect the box for signs of shipping damage, and if possible, note
any damage on the delivery receipt that you will be asked to sign by the delivery driver.  Shipping damage
must be reported within twenty-four (24) hours to protect your right to a damage claim, so please inspect the
unit promptly upon delivery.  If damage is discovered when unpacking the unit, save all packing materials and
call Daavlin immediately at 1-800-322-8546 for instructions.

Select a Location

A location for your device should be chosen within reach of a standard 3 prong grounded wall electrical outlet
and where the unit can be left in place without being in the way of traffic flow.  It is important that the unit be
properly  grounded.    Extension  cords  are  not  recommended.    The  location  should  not  be  in  any  area  where
water or moisture might collect and should be protected from access by children.  Exposure to ultraviolet light
over extended periods of time may cause carpets, wall coverings and furnishings to fade.

Electrical Requirements

The 7 Series is shipped with a standard three prong grounded wall plug. All 7 Series devices can be plugged
into any grounded, three prong, household electrical outlet that matches the voltage and frequency for the
machine.

All 7 Series devices are equipped with an onboard fuse.  The fuse holder is located just below the power cord
on the back of the unit.  Should an onboard fuse blow, call the Daavlin service department to determine an
appropriate replacement.

Unpacking and Assembly

Be careful, as fluorescent lamps can be broken if the unit is not unpacked properly.

The grid that will cover the lamps is not installed for shipping. When the box is unpacked, the grid will be on top
and should be set aside so that it can be installed after the unit is standing.

1.  Remove the top of the box/crate and set it aside.  With as many people as possible, but a minimum of

two, lift the device, including the foam shock absorbers, from the box, and lay it on its side.  Do not
remove the foam shock absorbers.

Note:

Your 7 series can weigh as much as 135 pounds. Always use two or more people when lifting

your unit and make sure to practice safe lifting techniques.
