Figure 3-39 Installing XFP/SFP+/SFP Modules
Installing SFP+ Cables
SFP+ cables can be used for connection over a short distance between SFP+ ports. Take the following steps to install
SFP+ cables:
1)
Take out SFP+ cables from the packing bag.
2)
Insert the connector of an SFP+ cable lengthwise into the switch’s SFP+ port.
During the operation, make sure a cable’s bending radius is no less than eight times as much as its diameter.
Replacing Swappable Interface Modules (Optional)
During the following procedures, wear an anti-static wrist trap close to your skin and have it properly grounded.
Replace a swappable interface module in any of the following circumstances:
The module is faulty.
The module must be replaced based on networking requirements.
Make sure the optical modules connected to both ends of a fiber are the same type while replacing swappable
optical modules.
Replacing XFP/SFP+/SFP Modules
Take the following steps to replace XFP/SFP+/SFP modules:
1)
Pull out optical fibers from XFP/SFP+/SFP modules.
2)
Push down the handle of a module you want to remove.
3)
Hold the handle and pull out the module.
4)
Insert a rubber plug into the module and place the module in a packing bag.
Do not stare into the fiber during the operation to avoid eye injury.
Do not touch the edge connector while removing XFP/SFP+/SFP modules.
