Answering Machine Bypass is a feature that allows external answering
machines and Fax machines connected to the telephone line to be
bypassed so as to allow users to access Comfort from an outside
telephone. When the Answering Machine Bypass option is turned on, call
home and hear the telephone ring once, then put down the phone
immediately. Call again within 10 to 25 seconds, and Comfort will answer
immediately. If a Greeting message is recorded, it will be played,
otherwise, “please sign in” will be heard. Program the external answering
machine and/or fax to answer before Comfort. You can use this method
to access Comfort, bypassing the answer machine/fax.
