Lesson 13
Pattern Management
Patterns are managed and organized while in Pattern Play mode or in
Pattern Write mode when the sequencer is stopped. Here you can
assign colors to patterns, copy and paste patterns, or clear patterns.
Assign a Color to a Pattern
Assigning different colors to your patterns can help you keep them
organized or highlight your favorites. Press
[FUNC]
+
[LED]
and the buttons
[1]
-
[13]
will light up with different color choices. Press the button for the
color you want to assign for the currently selected pattern(s), or press
[CLEAR]
to set this pattern to always use the system color (see Lesson
17). Press
[FUNC]
to exit the color menu.
Copy and Paste a Pattern
Select the pattern that you want to copy by pressing its
[#]
button. Press
[FUNC]
+
[COPY]
to copy the pattern to the clipboard. Select the destination
pattern number, then press
[FUNC]
+
[PASTE]
.
After performing a copy, the pattern will reside in the clipboard memory
until a new copy command is issued, so you can perform several
successive paste operations without repeating the copy operation.
Copy and Paste Multiple Patterns
Select a range of patterns to copy by performing a range selection. This
is done by pressing and holding the
[#]
button of the first pattern then
pressing the
[#]
button of the final pattern. For example, to select
patterns P5, P6, P7, and P8, press
[5]
+
[8]
. Then copy these patterns to
the clipboard by pressing
[FUNC]
+
[COPY]
.
Use a similar process to select the same number of destination pattern
slots and press
[FUNC]
+
[PASTE]
to paste the patterns.
