Sharing network addresses over remote locations

PR2000 Installation Guide
9.2 Configuring IP bridging
The PR2000 can be configured to emulate an "intelligent bridge" and, by doing
so, allows the same network address range to be shared among two or more
remote locations.
Suppose you have the class C range 192.168.160.0 - 192.168.160.255. That
would allow for a total of 254 valid host IP addresses. In addition, assume that
you need only 6 hosts, lets say with addresses 100, 101, 102, 252, 253, 254 in
a remote location, and use all the remaining IP addresses locally. This would be
very difficult and inefficient to do using sub-netting.
To do this using the PR2000 bridging emulation feature, set Proxy ARP to
"Active" in the Config->Interface->Ethernet->Network Protocol menu (see
the chapter Getting the LAN Interface to Work).
For each possible WAN interface, you will be allowed to enable the bridge over
that interface, enable broadcasts over that interface, and define ranges of
addresses that should be forwarded to that interface. In our example, there is
only one WAN interface and two IP address ranges: 192.168.160.100-
192.168.160.102 and 192.168.160.252-192.168.160.254. In general,
broadcasts over WAN are disabled to save bandwidth.
