Connecting the Handpiece Dummy Plug
The excel V+ system console has two handpiece receptacles. If only one handpiece is installed, you
must insert a “dummy plug” into the vacant handpiece receptacle, as follows:
1.
Align the dummy plug over the handpiece receptacle on the side of the system console
and press down gently to align the fittings.
2.
Once aligned, press down firmly until you hear two audible clicks The clicks indicate that
both locking tabs are engaged.
NOTE
It is important to listen for two clicks when installing the dummy plug.
The dummy plug is properly connected only when both locking tabs
are engaged.
