2.6 Optional Accessories
2.6.1 Magnetic Mount
The magnetic mount can be used to install the MGL-3 antenna on any
ferrous surface such as the roof of a vehicle. It consists of a mounting
extension three inches long, attached to a circular metal disk, housing a
magnet. A mylar cover on the bottom of the mount protects the
mounting surface from abrasion. (CSI Wireless PN 725-0006-012)
A three inch diameter zinc plated steel disc and a double sided
adhesive foam pad are included with the magnetic mount for
attachment to non-ferrous surfaces, including fiberglass rooftops.
2.6.2 Permanent Mount
A stainless steel permanent mount is available for installation of the
MGL-3 antenna. It consists of a hollow threaded post on a circular
base. Three screws are required to secure this mount to a mounting
surface. (CSI Wireless PN 604-0002-000).
2.6.3 Survey Adapter
The Survey Adapter is a threaded insert available for use with the MGL-
3 antenna. It converts the standard 1-14-UNS-2B thread to a 5/8
th
inch
thread, frequently used with survey equipment. (CSI Wireless PN 600-
0005-006)
2.6.4 ‘Y’ Data Cable
A ‘Y’ Data Cable is available for use with the GBX receiver operating in
the Gx-E external RTCM input mode. This cable interfaces to the DB9
connector of the GBX receiver, and branches to two DB9 ports, labeled
Port 1 and Port 2. Port 1 maintains the same RS-232 pin-out as the
main serial port on the rear panel of the GBX and is a female DB9
connector. The Port 2 connector accepts correction input to the GBX,
