z
Lower compression improves image quality, but generates larger files.
z
Black & White uses less bandwidth than color.
z
Rotating the image 90 or 270 degrees will lower the maximum frame rate.
Under certain circumstance with fixed bandwidth, some clients prefer image quality to video smoothness and
others, the reverse. Dual-streaming can be set as follows;
For better image quality: 704X480, 7fps, VBR, High Quality
For better video smoothness: 320X240, 30fps, CBR, 200kbps

Channel Video Setting
¾
Video Setting: S-160 encodes one video source into two different video channels. That is, user can set
up two different encoding configurations such as image size and bit rate on one video source from one
analog camera.
※
Maximum Frame Rate: 240fps at CIF(352X240) or 60fps at 4CIF(704X480)
¾
Available Frame Rate: This shows the remains of possible frame rate that user can set up. If this shows
“0”, user cannot set up additional video channel setting.
¾
CH (Channel): “CH” shows the number of camera displayed on the viewer when user access to S-160
and view the live images.
☞
NO. 1 camera can be accessed through CH 1 or CH 5
☞
NO. 2 camera can be accessed through CH 2 or CH 6
☞
NO. 3 camera can be accessed through CH 3 or CH 7
☞
NO. 4 camera can be accessed through CH 4 or CH 8
¾
Resolution: Configurable as 704x480, 704x240, 352x480 or 352x240
¾
Frame Rate: Configurable as 1 ~ 30 fps
¾
VBR (Variable Bit Rate): The VBR mode will maintain a high, if so defined, image quality regardless of
motion or no motion in the image scene. This is often desirable in security and surveillance applications
when there is a need for high quality, especially if there is motion in the picture. Since the bit-rate in
VBR may vary, even though an average target bit-rate is defined, the network infrastructure (available
bandwidth) for such a system needs to have this capacity.
