Setup Preparation
This chapter gives an overview of how to setup the AP and describes how to access the AP settings using
a web browser.
Setup Methods
Although the FX-D540-AP/APP can be set up precisely to construct an advanced wireless LAN
environment, there are three different setup methods available: web browser, terminal, and TELNET.
The key features of each setup method are as follows.
WWW browser

Provides an easy to use graphical interface.

Setup can be performed remotely (via a LAN or modem).

Independent of PC platform (type of OS, etc.).

Requires that the network IP address of the AP be the same as the network IP address of the PC used
for setup.
Terminal

Setup can be performed even from older PCs.

Setup through the PC connected directly to the AP via an RS-232C cable
TELNET

Capable of remote (LAN-based) setup in the same way as with the terminal.

This setup assumes that the IP address of the AP and that of the PC used for setup belong to the same
network group.
