FX-DS540-AP, FX-DS540-APP
Comparison of Main Functions
The FX-DS540-AP/APP has three wireless link modes. The available functions are different for each
mode. The following shows a table of the relationship between the operating modes and main functions
and gives a brief explanation of each function.

Roaming
The roaming function which allows mobile user units to switch log-in between multiple APs can only be
used. Roaming can be used to construct large scale wireless LANs.
IP tunneling
This function modifies the IP address so that units can connect to the desired network group even via.
It can be used in the Advanced Infrastructure and Standard Infrastructure modes.
Station AP connection
A station (unit type ST) indicates an AP managed (logged in) by another AP; it is used to serve as a
bridge.
SNMP
This function enables remote management by software that supports SNMP. Available in all modes.
Log collection function
This function lists the wireless terminals logged in to the AP and collects times and other event
information. See Chapter 6 for details.
