Install Windows XP on a SATA connected HDD
(1) Connect the SATA connected HDD, and then turn on the PC power.
When using the RAID function, perform the configuration in advance.
(2) When installing by CD-ROM, reboot from CD-ROM.
When the message of [Press F6 if you need to install third party SCSI or RAID driver] is prompted,
press the [F6] key.
(3) Press the [S] key to specify the drive to add.
(4) Insert the created driver FD to FDD, and then press the [Enter] key.
(5) Select [Intel(R) 82801GHM SATA RAID Controller (Mobile ICH7MDH)] in the list displayed in the
screen, and then press the [Enter] key.
(6) [Windows XP setup] is displayed again, the message of [Setup will load support for the following
massstorage device(s): will be displayed. [Intel(R) 82801GHM SATA RAID Controller (Mobile
ICH7MDH)] is included in this list. When there is a device to install additionally, specify the
device here. After all the devices are specified, move to the next step.
(7) Press the [Enter] key at the [Windows XP setup] screen to continue the installing of Windows XP.
CAUTION
During Windows XP installation, a warning “Software installation”, “Hardware installation” will
appear. This may occur when the target driver does not support Windows Logo Test, however it
has no trouble with the operation. In this case, press [Yes] button.
