Environmental note!

The end user is under legal obligation to take back all used batteries and
rechargeable batteries (from round cell batteries to lead rechargeable batter-
ies), to dispose of them via domestic waste is not permitted.

You can return used batteries and rechargeable batteries free of charge, to
supermarkets, dealer's shops or local collection centres where special collec-
tion boxes are set up for this purpose.

You should also contribute to environmental protection.

Operation

Infrared thermometers measure the surface temperature of an object.  The
sensor of the device will detect the emitted, reflected and transmitted heat
radiation of the object and transfers this information into a temperature reading.

Temperature Measurement

To measure temperatures aim the device onto the object to be measured and
press button (5). The LCD (7) will display "SCAN" (11).

Make sure that the spot to be measured is not larger than the object to be
measured.  The detected temperature measurement will be displayed on the
LCD (7). After having released the button to detect the temperature (5), the
detected temperature reading will be displayed for approx. another 10 sec-
onds.  During this time "HOLD" (12) will be displayed. After approx. 10 sec-
onds the device will switch off automatically to safe battery capacity. When
the laser is switched on, the laser beam will show you about the middle of the
measuring spot. This makes precise measurements easier. To localise hot
spots, the device is aimed at a spot outside of the desired area and the area
is "scanned" with "zigzag" movements, until the hot spot is found.

Measuring Spot Size - Distance to Spot
Ratio (D/S)

To achieve precise measurement results, the object to be measured needs to
be larger than the measuring spot of the infrared thermometer. The detected
temperature is the average temperature of the measured surface. The smaller
