Chapter 7 Diagnostics
The Diagnostics menu provides feedback on the connection status of the router.
The individual tests are listed below. If a test displays a fail status, click the
Test
button at the bottom of the screen to retest and confirm the error. If the test
continues to fail, click
Help
and follow the troubleshooting procedures.
The basic test set (no PVC configured) is described in the table below. For help
with the other tests click on the
Help
link
next
to
the test condition for guidance.
Test Status
Ethernet Connection
Pass:
Indicates that the Ethernet interface on your
computer is connected to the LAN port of the router.
Fail:
Indicates that the router does not detect the Ethernet
interface on your computer.
USB connection
Pass:
Indicates that the USB interface on your computer is
connected to the USB port of the router.
Down:
Indicates that the router does not detect the USB
interface on your computer.
ADSL
Synchronization
Pass:
Indicates that the router has detected a DSL signal.
Fail:
Indicates that the router does not detect a DSL signal
Other tests will depend upon the PVC configuration. A PPPoE test screen is given
as an example below. For multiple PVC configurations use the
Next Connection
and
Previous Connection
buttons to navigate test screens.
