After you have run the Survey Utility, you can view the Integrated
Management Log by loading the output of the utility (typically called
survey.txt) into a text viewer such as Microsoft Notepad. The event list
follows the system slot information. After you have opened the text file, you
can print it using the print feature of the viewer. For more information on the
list of events, see the
Compaq Servers Troubleshooting Guide
.
Automatic Server Recovery-2
If there is a critical system failure, ASR-2 enables you to restart the server and
page a designated system administrator. For more information, see the
Server
Reference Guide
on the Documentation CD.
Diagnostics Tools
Some of the Compaq software and firmware diagnostics tools include Power-
On Self-Test (POST), Diagnostics (DIAGS), ROMPaq utilities to upgrade
flash ROMs, and Drive Array Advanced Diagnostics (DAAD).
For information regarding Compaq diagnostic tools, see the Documentation
CD included in the Reference Information pack of the shipping box.
Supported Drive Configurations
Standard server configurations can include as many as five Smart Array 3200
Controllers, depending on the installed network operating system. Each Smart
Array 3200 Controller can support two Compaq ProLiant 6400R Storage
Systems or one Compaq ProLiant 6400R Storage System and the internal hot-
plug hard drives.
Maximum SCSI Configuration
A maximum practical SCSI configuration optimizing performance and storage
could include one network interface controller (NIC), an internal Dual
Channel Wide-Ultra SCSI-3 Controller, five Smart Array 3200 controllers, 10
Compaq ProLiant 6400R Storage System/UE units, and 18.2-GB drives.
This configuration would yield a total storage capacity of 1.6 TB (1601 GB).
